My mom, she’s on the large side and she’s 6 feet tall. I’m getting married and she asked me to look for some dresses for her because she dreads buying clothes, she never feels good in what she wears.

I’m looking for something that will make her look amazing…

maybe like a floor length gown, with a shrug…

Does anyone have any ideas or pictures??? I am unhappy with my internet search results.

Here is what (roughly translated) most of the websites I went to said:

Measure directly below your breasts, this will be your band size. Make sure the measuring tape is even (I did!)

Measure across the fullest part of your breasts, this will be your cup size. Make sure the measuring tape is even (mm-hmm)

Subtract the band size from the cup size (If it’s an odd number round it up to the next number blahblahblah):

28 – 32 = -4? I’m not sure how I would find that…

So then I reversed it (32 – 28 = 4)

Which made more sense, because the difference (in inches was the cup size)

so here is the "measuring chart":

less than 1 inch = AA cup
1 inch = A cup
2 inches = B cup
3 inches = C cup
4 inches = D cup
5 inches = DD cup
6 inches = E cup (US DDD)

and so on…

There is no way I could be a D… so where did I go wrong? Plus if I’m thinking right, wouldn’t that make my band size a 28? Do they even make 28′s?

Maybe I made some major mistake in the math of it… haha

I really have no idea…

So I thought that I could go through my whole pregnancy without wearing maternity clothes. I wear my regular jeans with the band that holds them up while unbuttoned. I am now 20 weeks pregnant, and my growing belly needs more room to grow. I need maternity clothes. I don’t really know where to shop though. What stores can I go to? I live in los angeles if that helps. *I like styles that are comfortable but that don’t look too sloppy. I mean I don’t want to wear sweats and t-shirts my whole pregnancy.

Yesteday I had a dr. appt. and my MIL wanted to go with me. I am 37 wks and have a horrible cold and cough so, not feeling great at all, I just wore a pair of stretchy pant and tee shirt. After the appt. we went to Walmart and out of the blue she is like Come to the maternity section with me and we’ll find you a cute top. I pick out one and am trying it on and she brings a bunch of 4x tops to try. I’m NOT that big and she knows that! then she starts saying how I need to buy big nice shirts and she is emberassed to be seen with me looking like i do and how nasty it is for my tummy to stick out like it does!! I finally pick a shirt and as we walk by the dressing room attendant [who heard all] my MIL turns to the woman and said of me ‘Look at her, doesn’t she look terrible, now you see what I was talking about". The woman gave me a pitying look as we left. I was so embarassd. I have gained 40 lb this preg and already feel like the side of a barn and this didn’t help at all!What would u do
my MIL haven’t gotten along in the past 10years though it has calmed in the past few and I really try to keep the peacefor eveyones sake.It’s rough sometimes!!She is the type that thinks everyone is below her and she is a vain person[ coiffed hairdo,blue eyeshadow and her yorkie in her manicured hands] you know the type!!I am not really a dressy makeup person,but by no means horrible, at least when not preggy and don’t generally dress too bad but just felt so bad i didn’t take alot of time with the wardrobe! It’s so hard for me to find a good bra because I wear a 36DDD and I have a 24 inch waist. All the bras in my size are for plus size women.

I’m 13, a C cup. My mom thinks I need bras with good support, so she gave me some with full coverage, that covers a lot. The tissue is thick and they clasp with 4 hooks in the back. She thinks I really need them, though I don’t like. I’ve been wearing then for some months, but still don’t like those bras.
I’m doing exactly as mom told me, we have a wonderful relationship and she’s very caring and loving. But now it’s summer and those bras are kinda confining and hot, make me sweat. None of my friends wear bras like those, but mom says I need them and it seems nothing will make her change her mind. Seems I don’t have other choice. She’s kind and loving, but very strict about my bras. They are like the one at this underwear site. I wear 34C
