Okay don’t laugh. I’m only ten weeks so I’m totally new to this. I’m wondering about maternity clothes. I’ll have to start buying them soon, it’s already extremely uncomfortable to wear my regular jeans. Do they come in sizes according to regular women’s sizes or sizes relating to pregnancy? Is a pair of maternity pants going to fit me all throughout my pregnancy? Where can I find cheap affordable ones?

Any help would be great!

Where else can a person go to get some deals on maternity clothes? I’m trying to buy things on the cheap. I am due Dec 31, so I will need clothes for a while longer, but to me it’s not worth it to buy everything full price.
So do any other moms know any websites or anything where I can get some good deals on maternity clothes?
So do Belly bands work the entire 9 months? And you really can wear your pants undone with a belly band over it and your pants will stay up? I mean I’ve seen those in the store but I was always doubtful…lol.

I have tried garage sales many many times. But the maternity clothes are always XS/S/M. I feel like such a black sheep lols!

I wore about a 7-8 in jeans before I got pregnant and I wear an 8-9 right now, and I’m 14 weeks pregnant. I REALLY like Wal Marts maternity clothes. They’re so cute and REALLY cheap… But I very highly doubt they would have these clothes at the store as they would online. I want to get some, but what size do you think I should get? Medium or large? Thanks so much!

As cheap as regular clothing? Here’s my reasoning :

1) Our money is mainly used for the arrival of our baby, not a pair or 60 buck jeans from motherhood, that we are only gonna wear for 3 or 4 months cause most women don’t even buy maternity clothes until 6 or 7 months in.

2) If they would lower the cost and make the clothes as cheap as regular clothes, then stores would make more money off of them, because we would be able to buy more at one time. (this is the reason why wal-mart and old navy no longer sell maternity clothing in the stores, only online, because they were losing money)

3) No already body conscious female wants to have to shop at goodwill for clothes that are possibly 15 years older then she is, and stretched out beyond return.

Honestly what are these stores reasoning behind charging so much for maternity clothes.

Old Navy Maternity> 2 pairs of jeans .45, 2 shirts .96 + tax = $ 123.56 + shipping and handling = $ 145.73

Old Navy Juniors> 2 pairs of jeans .98, 2 shirts $ 35.00 + tax = $ 91.78 + shipping and handling = $ 112.05

now take off shipping and handling because you don’t have to order regular clothes online. total .78 > .95 difference.

ITS FREAKING RIDICULOUS

can someone please tell me why these clothes cost so much? I would really like to know.

Just curious if there is a store that is your complete favorite. Maybe because it is cheaper or has the biggest selection. I am looking for a good store and keep coming up empty handed and I have a relatives baby shower to go to Sunday and wanted to wear something nice, but it’s hard with my baby bump. Thanks!

Does anyone know of a good and cheap place to buy plus size maternity clothes near Kalamazoo, MI? Willing to drive to Grand Rapids or Battle Creek. The only place I know of that offers plus size maternity is Lane Bryant, and I can’t afford that. So, any ideas would be great.

I noticed alot of stores dont sell maternity clothes and if they do they only have about 2 racks. Why is that?? I dont want to buy clothes online and I dont want to go to motherhood, because they cost so much. Old navy and fashion bug only sell online. K-mart, walmart, and target only had 2 racks of clothing and most Ugly. anyone know a good cheap place to get maternity clothes. I also bought some from e-bay and dont wanna do that becuase once I got the clothes they werent what I expected. Also checked good will and they didnt have any. I live in pa if that helps. I might buy online if they dont cost much. thanks
well they dont have them in our goodwill, unless someone bought them all. and I searched all over the net and havent found anything besides stores that want to sell you a shirt for .

Where can you buy cheap but decent maternity wear in Australia? I know Target have some things but its coming up to summer and their range just doesnt cut it when it comes to things like simple shorts and t-shirts. Do any of the other department stores stock nice maternity clothes?

I am pregnant with my second child and started showing a lot earlier than I did with my first. I really need to do some shopping, but don’t understand why clothes that you are only going to wear 1-2 months are so expensive. I have a hard time going to places like Motherhood Maternity and spending on a pair of jeans. Any ideas to do this much cheaper?

I am so upset and frustrated with how maternity clothes are made. I normally wear small to medium non pregnancy and now I am having to buy large and extra large maternity?
Latest thing, I bought some underwear, normally I would wear small so I figured medium pregnancy underwear would be fine. Well they are smaller than my pre pregnancy smalls and there are no returns allowed for even the unopened packages. Is it just me or has maternity wear become skimpy and cheap with their material? I’ll be 7 weeks pregnant tomorrow with my 2nd child. I don’t remember how far along until you generally need to purchase maternity clothes. ( my dghtr is 8 so it has been a while)
I know every woman is different….but I’m trying to budget and would like a rule of them around how many weeks I need to budget maternity clothes. Also, anyone know where I can get cheap, cute maternity clothes? I don’t want over sized t-shirts or only t-shirts. I’m a full time college student going for my elem education degree. Since baby is not due till Dec I still plan on attending summer and fall 09 classes. Which means I need to be able to start dressing more professional.
So, a few t- shirts would work, but I want other clothes to. Clothes that are professional and I can still fell beautiful in…not average, loose clothes. I still want to feel beautiful, no matter how big I get.
ok, everyone is saying I will show sooner since this is pregnancy #2…however, my dghtr is 8. So it ahs been 9 yrs. With it being so long does that still mean i will show sooner? My biggest thing? I live in Memphis, Tn I have a friend whom dosent have a lot of money and she need clothes and toys for her 7 month old daughter. Where is a good place to get it? I head of a store that sells used clothes,furniture,toys and maternity clothes at like yard sale prices but I forgot the name? We looked at Goodwill and Salvation Army but i guess all the good stuff get taken fast cause there wasnt anything there worth buying? Thanks for the help!
