I hit 34 weeks Tuesday and I am just so miserable all the time except for when I’m laying on the couch. The baby absolutely loves my right rib cage and is forever more kicking me in it. So anytime that I’m not laying down he constantly kicks me trying to gain more room (poor little guy must be so cramped in there). On top of that I am so exhausted all the time and am plagued by cramps in my lower stomach and back all day long. Add that in with the heartburn, nausea and fatigue and that makes for one long work day (I’m still working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week). I have short term disability insurance but it won’t pay until I have the baby and I have no vacation time. My hubby said I could go ahead and take leave and he would just pick up some overtime but I so don’t want him to have to go through that because I know how much he hates it. So, is anyone else out there in a similar situation? How do you make through the day? Its very, very slow at my job right now so I spend 8 hours a day surfing the internet and that makes the day go by so much slower. Believe me, I’ve offered to help other departments and everyone is just really slow right now. So, any words of encouragement or any advice on how to get through the work day without wanting to break down and cry?

I need to know?

During my first pregnancy i took Duetdha and they were really good vitamins although I did have alot of pregnancy complications i started dilating at 28 weeks. I had to be hospitalized and my baby was born at 34 weeks with 8 pounds. Now i’m pregnant again with another high risk pregnancy but unfortunately my medicaid has expired and their taking long to give me it again I am 10 weeks so I got Primacare One Vitamins i’ve heard they have lots of side effects is that true cause duetdha was an excellent vitamin for me cuz the fish oil. Primacare has dha too i think but it’s cheaper than duetdha but i don’t know if it’s good for me has anyone tried those it hasn’t given me any problems until now (just regular pregnancy problems like spotting) also do you guys know any other type of maternity insurance i can get i really need to see a doctor to see how my baby’s doing! I have a high risk pregnancy and i’m really scared. I live in florida by the way.

A few months after I met my now husband, I found out I was pregnant.During my pregnancy he did little to support me as I could work less and less. I waited tables and by the time I was 7 months I could not handle the load I did before I was pregnant. I got even more behind as pre-pregnancy I was barely making it. A month before the baby was born he moved in and provided somewhat for the first few months of the babies life while I was unpaid maternity leave. During that time my bills from before him were not getting paid because there was no money plus all the hospital bills from crappy insurance. I had a few more hospital visits after then and began working at better job but it still didn’t cover all my bills. We decided to get married, but he refused to help me pay any of the bills except what he considered his – half the rent. and sometimes expenses to the baby Many of my bills went to collections and we ended up getting evicted. To make matters worse, I ended up getting pregnant again, but found an even better job. Before I met my husband I had some student loan debt, a car loan and some credit card debt equalling about ,000. Now with all the hospital bills and everything I owe over ,000. I am barely making it now and having to pay hundreds of dollars in bank fees each month. My husband hoards his money and will not even sit down with me to help me figure things out. I have no other family and am at a loss as to what to do. I don’t need to be critisized I just need sound advice on how to get out of this. I am in a bad cycle that if I just leave money in the bank, it gets eaten up and I can’t provide for my kids. My marriage is falling apart and my husband is verbally abusive. I have tried shelters but they have no room and there is a waitlist unless I call the cops on my husband. I have tried legal aid, but I make too much. The lawyers I have talked to want at least 00 down to file for bankrupcy. I make ,000, and I live in the most expensive county in the US where the cheapest rent I could find takes up half of my monthly paycheck and daycare a fourth of it. My credit can’t get worse. I just need ideas and resources on how I can get better for my kids sake and leave this relationship.
I also do not use credit cards and have not used them for over a year. I work strictly on a cash basis.

Stay at home or go back to work?

Hi everyone. I had a question. Before I got pregnant with my now 11 month old daughter, I was working fresh out of college with my bachelor. 6 months later, we were pregnant. I went on maternity leave at 8 months preggo and never went back. Husband and I decided for me to stay home with our baby. Well, we decided things were looking good financially and with our family so we decided to get pregnant again. As soon as I get pregnant (I am almost 6 weeks) things start falling apart. Our insurance sky rocketed so we put our daughter on medicaid. Hubby pulls in some overtime and my daughter is booted off medicaid! We are now in the process of trying to get her on kidcare (an alternative to medicaid) but cheaper than insurance. Unexpected bills just decide to POP up like always out of the blue. We have no luxury expenses except maybe cable…no car payments, nothing like that. Just the necessities and I keep deferring my student loans up until next year when I have no choice but to pay. Now I feel so guilty because I am the one with the degree and I am not using it. We felt strongly that the best for the kids would be for me to stay with them. We have no family to watch our kids so the alternative would be daycare…what do you guys think..? Should we continue living pay check to paycheck for our kids to have their mommy at home or should I go back to work to live more comfortable? Please any opinions are appreciated! Thanks!

Should I go back to work now?

My baby boy is 11 wks old (brand new, to me) on top of my 12 week maternity leave I extended it 6 more weeks for baby bonding. I cannot imagine leaving my son right now when he is just getting to know me more and more, although he will be with a very trusted family friend of ours. We both would love for me to stay home until he is 6 months. The deal is that I started my job last year in March and my live in boyfriend sees growth potential in that company. Not to mention that I like it there being that it is a small firm and were very flexible with me throughout my pregnancy and let me off of work for 4 months still holding my position. They are totally cool!!!

Is it wrong for me not to go back within the next 2 weeks? Would they think that I used them for their insurance?

on the flip side….

We are also thinking in the best interest of our son!

PLEASE ADVICE.

Home birth anyone?? (20 characters)?

We wanted to try for #2 in July — or son is turning 2 then and we thought it would be a good time to start. With our insurance, we had to add maternity now (you only have 1 window to add this, and it’s once a year), but we have to wait 6 months before we start trying. This puts us at November. It’s a month, and we would still have to pay for the birth.
One of my best friends is a midwife, for home births, and would do everything for around 00 — MUCH cheaper, and we could start trying in July like we wanted. I gave birth to my son with no medication, and everything went well. We also only live about 5 mins from the hospital (in case there is an emergency).

But we have to decide now whether we want a home birth, or if we want a hospital birth.

Any opinions? Anyone experience a home birth (positive or negative)?

im pregnant and i lost my dependancy from the military….my boyfriend has no insurance and neither do i, but we make way too much money in the state of hawaii for medquest. they say we are about 1200 over the qualifying point. what they can do is cover our bills after they surpass 1200 per month, but that is tooo much! there is no insurance policy that we can get privately for maternity costs. we cannot go through our employer for insurance. my boyfriend wants to pick up and move to another state with family, he said since we will be living there, and start off with no jobs, we would qualify, but that doesnt sound legal to me. we are considering a midwife since they are way cheaper, but they all want their money before the baby is born, and we cant do that…….i am so stressed out and i dont know what to do…….
yes i am definately sure i cannot qualify for insurance through work because i am a substitute/on call teacher at a child development center and they do not offer benefits for this position. i cannot have a regular position until i finish my credentials which the baby will be here before i can finish anyways………
we tried applying for everything under the sun in hawaii. we qualify for no help because of our income…….weve talked to midwives and they understand what we are going through because they know the hawaii laws…

My employer told me that as a single individual I am not legally allowed to opt out of the employer health insurance. Previously he had said that if I chose to opt out, I would get 0 to use on my own choice of health insurance, but after calling BCBS, he was told that legally I have no choice. Unless I am on another group plan, I have to be on the employer group plan. As a single female age 23, it is much to my advantage to choose another health plan that is cheaper. I can get a BCBS plan with a 7 premium that has a lower deductible and 0% coinsurance rate if I opt out of maternity care. Group health plans require maternity care, therefore, I get a larger premium, larger deductible for going with the group plan. But none of this matters if I am not allowed by law to choose and opt out of my health insurance. Does this sound right?

what to do about lifes common struggles?

just got married a few months ago. we’re living in an apartment paying lust over 0 a month between rent and utilities. we just signed up for health insurance. the cheapest plan we can get that covers myself, spouse and maternity care is 0 thru my work. if we were to get our own plan form e-healthins.com the cheapest plan would be 450 to 500 and up. both vehicles are paid for. i have about 300 a month in student loan payments. plus we each contribute 6% for retirement. we don’t make that much money. we choose to save any extra rather than go on vacations and stuff like that. ina few years when we do choose to have a child it will end up costing us almost 4,000 in co pays and deductibles. on top of all that we’re trying to save for a house how do people do it? how are people supposed to pay expensive rent, expensive insurance and save money for a house? we’ve found that any house over 90,000 will be more than what we’re paying for rent now. i don’t want it all right now, i’m fine with waiting for a time and delaying pleasure but at the rate we’re going it seems like we’ll never get there.
also, if we buy a house and have a kid a few years later she would have to quit work to take care of the kid. either that or pay 300-400 a week for daycare. i can’t afford a wife and kids and a house and insurance on my own.

Group or Individual Plan? Cheaper? Better?

My hubby just switched to a new job and we recently recieved our insurance cards in the mail. We thought we were going to be signing up for group coverage (only my hubby and one other employee are using insurance), but it turns out we are signed on to an individual policy, and his work is covering a portion of it. We are on a Blue Cross Flex Plan, with Maternity coverage (after 180 days), and a ,000 deductible per family contract. My hubby and I are desperately trying to get pregnant, and this plan would mean we’ll have to wait 6 months before any maternity would be covered, whereas with group, you can not be denied maternity coverage.

My question is, with two employees, would a group plan be better than doing two individual policies? Would it be more expensive than two individual plans? Cheaper? I know we can have them switch to a group plan, as that was one of the deicding factors for him taking this job. I’m just really leary about this individual plan, because the deductible is so high, and there’s a 6 month wait for any coverage…

Insurance Question?

So I recently found out that I am about 5 weeks pregnant. My fiance and I are moving May 31st to las vegas where his family is from. We do not have jobs out there yet and we dont have a whole lot of money now considering we just got out of college. We also do not have any insurance. I am one of those ppl who tries to do everything on my own. However I dont think we will be able to afford doctor bills and all the other expenses that come along with a baby. Should we try to get some sort of insurance that would cover maternity expenses(which I think is hard to get if you are already pregnant) and we would need a cheap one….or should we apply for medicaid and see what we can get there. We do not want to be on wic or get any food stamps we just need assistance with the medical bills. Does anyone have any good suggestions or anything?

so my creditors refuse to offer me insurance because they said that my card is no longer active–so the only option i have is to keep paying it down…

but the thing is..i am going on maternity leave (WITHOUT pay)..
and i really don’t have that kind of money to be paying them right now (as much as i want to) but yet..they keep harassing me with their phone calls trying to "arrange" a payment plan for me (which i am pretty sure i cannot afford).

don’t get me wrong–i have been paying them ON TIME when i was able to..but because i am going to be in labor in about FIVE days…i haven’t really kept up with the payments..

on top of that..i am a single mom paying all the bills at home.
i have rent, utilities, car insurance, and phone bills to pay–not to mention..i still owe a huge citation. so paying credit card bills is the LAST thing i can do right now.

do u believe there is anything i can do to stop those annoying phone calls?!! i get about 10 calls a day…
