I am breastfeeding my 9 week old daughter. I wear nursing bras or maternity bras, both without underwires.
I am planning on going bra shopping because only 1 of mine really fits 100% and it is ugly.
I was wondering if I can wear bras with underwired cups while breastfeeding or not. I don’t necessarily need the flaps that open and close in the front. But from what I’ve seen at the shops so far, they hardly have any nice bras without the wiring in bigger sizes and I am tired of the ‘granny’ underwear. I also don’t have a big budget so it wouldn’t help me if some top maternity wear designer or exclusive lingery brand actually made nice nursing bras…Does anyone know if I can wear normal bras with wiring while breastfeeding, or does anyone know what I can do to get the propper support that doesn’t look hideous? I definately need a bra because I wasn’t small chested before pregnancy and now it’s just out of control -how far in the abc do they make cup sizes?
Thanks to all so far!
I think I exagerated a bit with the size, but compared to before (cupC or D) they seem huge now.

I have so much trouble finding maternity blouses that fit properly! For the most part, they all have some type of tie or gathering that is supposed to go right under your bust. I guess my girls are either bigger or droopier than most, because when I put the blouse so the ties are in the right place, it pulls on the back of my neck. If I move it back on my neck, the tie cuts right across my nipples! Am I the only one with this problem? Before anyone asks – I bought new bras and they fit well
K*LA – I did not bother with nursing bras until I actually had my 1st little one. The ones I did buy, I bought from Expressiva.com, and I was really happy with them. During pregnancy, I went to Lane Bryant when they had their Buy 2 get 2 Free sale and stocked up!

I am a 38H and need to find supportive nursing bras. Most that I have seen in my size don’t have any upper support… you lower the cup and your whole boob just flops out. Lol. Any good, supportive, and not super expensive suggestions?

I am 18 weeks along and went today to buy my first round of maternity clothes. I have to say that I am very impressed and wish all jeans had the stretch bands. I could live in those! My question is, where seems to be the cheapest place to get clothes?
I went to Motherhood Maternity and spent 0 dollars (which was my budget). I got…
A pair of jeans
A pair of shorts
Two nursing bras
4 shirts
A dress
Did I overpay? Or did I do okay?

I recently had a baby and had a very hard time in my area finding maternity clothes much less now being a nursing mother trying to find nursing bras and shirts. I have problems going into stores with my stroller because alot of stores do not have handicap buttons. Once in the store the aisles are to small to get the stroller thru without hitting/knocking things over. Some stores the carseat doesn’t fit on the shopping cart. I’m having trouble now finding a babycarrier. I know what I want a front and hip carrier but can only find a front or hip carrier.I would like to open a store that mothers-to-be and new mothers can come and find what they are looking for in one place. With nice size aisles to get thru. Maybe even a sitting area for kids to play, mothers to have disscusion groups . And if I don’t have what you are looking for I will order it for you. There is so much I would like to do with the store but not enough room left to write. Any help on the idea of my store will be great.

At what point is it best to buy nursing bras? Before the baby comes or after? I’m just not sure how much more the breast grow after the milk comes in or how any of that works?
I’m 28 weeks along. Would it be safe to go and get one now or not?

For all you plus sized nursing mommies, where did you find your nursing bras? I’m a 40D and am having a hard time finding ones that: a) seams don’t show through a t-shirt
b) very supportive with underwire that
WON’T poke through (one from target
kept doing this to me)
c) no side spillage
d) does "sexy" and "nursing bra" exist in
the same sentence???lol
Thanks!

I’m trying to find a good nursing bra. I really don’t like the cotton bras like they have at Wal Mart. I’d rather have the silky ones and ones that are padded not just thin material. Just wondering where you thought was the best place to buy nursing bras for a reasonable price.

The other day I saw them on the Victorias Secret website, but they are no longer there. Are they discontinued?
Before pregnancy I wore the body by victoria bras, and would like to find a nursing bra that gives the same kind of shaping (soft cup, lightly lined, nice shape, comfortable). The nursing bras I have found do not give a nice shape at all. Any recommendations would be helpful. Thank you!

I’m just curious.. Before pregnancy I bought bras all the time, so I have a wide assortment. But nursing bras will only be used for at the most a year… Whats a good amount to buy? So far I have bought one black and one white with underwire and a gray wireless one. Should i get more?

I just got measured at Motherhood Maternity and currently I am 42F and I am 34weeks pregnant. For a nursing bra I need to go to a 42G, but they don’t sell them at the store.
I went to the website for Motherhood Maternity and searched just for that size, and nothing came up! Now, Lane Bryant sells maternity clothes, but I couldn’t find any nursing bras there either. Does anyone have any suggestions?
