Am I just incredibly cheap?

I was reading in the Pregnancy category, a question arose about maternity pants. This quote was in one of the replies:

Seven 4 all mankind, joe’s jeans, true religion, antik all have maternity pants/jeans

Seriously – High end name brand maternity clothing? Holy cow! Do people seriously buy maternity clothing that costs this much? You only wear it for a few months.

Does anybody know of any stores that are online or otherwise, where I can find decent not horribly expensive plus sized maternity clothing? I know of Motherhood Maternity, which is a little pricey but good, and have recently seen that Old Navy has an online plus size maternity section, but that is all I know of! Please tell me websites or stores. I start back to work in a month (I am a teacher) and have next to nothing. Thanks!

I want to travel to China (Guangzhou) and purchase good clothes, bags shoes and jewerly for resale. The clothes are mainly children and maternity clothing.
My fear is, i have heard China has so many grades in the same item. where can i get good ones? I want to purchase in dozens, that is 1dozen/design because i operate a retail shop.

Are there also good items in Yiwu?

Hi! I’m in my 33rd week of pregnancy and have officially outgrown all of my regular clothes. Boo :( , but I still have a couple more weeks left in my pregnancy and I need some clothes. I live in the Beverly Hills area and I was wondering if anyone knows of any hip maternity stores? The only place I have found teen maternity clothing is at low class stores that I refuse to shop at. Money is not a problem, if there are any on-line stores also that would be great ! (:
Bite the Hand- how disrespectful, you don’t know anyones story. So shut the fuck up you rugby playing ugly ass cat chick. Thank you (:

Where to find PLUS SIZED Maternity Clothing?

I’m newly pregnant for the first time and I’m a size 20 / 22. Are there any other places aside from JCPennys, Old Navy, and Motherhood Maternity to find clothing?
Neither Torrid nor Target offer plus sized maternity clothing. Thank you for randomly throwing out store names?

I have been pregnant twice and have been extremely frustrated with the lack of flattering and/or non-cleavage-baring maternity clothing available. Most of the clothing is very expensive, and most stores seem to stock the same limited color choices as all of the others.

Almost none of the clothing is designed for real pregnant women who do not look like fashion models with belly bumps strapped in front. Almost everything is cleavage baring, requiring me to wear a layer underneath, which is very hot when you’re already roasting from the hormones. :) Few things are actually slimming – they either made me look like a stuffed sausage or a billowing sail. I found most of my maternity clothing by looking in non-maternity stores for high-waisted styles, tunics, and leggings.

Why this is not available for pregnant women at a reasonable price, I don’t know.

I would love to change this. But how? Is designing my own clothing line and trying to start a specialty store in which to sell it as crazy as it sounds?

Pregnancy is a beautiful thing and we shouldn’t have to feel ashamed and frumpy throughout it, nor should we have to pay an arm and a leg to feel pretty. I want to offer clothing for REAL women, at REAL prices, in lots of styles and lots of colors.

I would love some advice on how to start my own clothing line and start my own specialty apparel store.

I am a big fan of Victorias Secret yoga pants (I am not pregnant yet but I feel like when i do get pregnant this will be the only thing i wear.. IF they are still instyle when I get pregnant lol) I love yoga pants, I would also probably try to wear a lot of stretch pants and dresses or leggings and sweaters and boots.. I know they have ADORABLE maternity clothing but I don’t know if I would want to wear that… to spend all that money on clothes you will only wear for a few months (depending on how many times you get pregnant) I don’t know… I would have to be in style lol and since I am just in college and don’t have a job theres no need for me to dress up for anything really, I would probably get kicked out of my sorority so… no functions for that… (which is fine too)

I am not worried about what my sorority thinks about my clothes if i got pregnant I would be kicked out of the sorority anyways.

I’m a little over 3 and 1/2 months pregnant (15 weeks 2 days) and I’m starting to… really starting to… show. Not huge, but i have a bump. Here’s a pic if it helps: http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh27/SKeynes_Candy/Decorated%20images/165554.jpg

It’s not really a maternity shirt it kind of looks like it, and i find it sort of more comfortable for my belly than, lets say, a t shirt. Should i start wearing maternity clothing now, if not, when should i start, and where are the best places to buy it? Thanks!

I was looking at the clothes at walmart and even the small clothes look HUGE. I’m buying a stroller and car seat offline, and I have a little extra money and I want to buy some maternity shirts for me, since none of my clothes are fitting. Here is a picture of my belly week by week. Everyone says I don’t look 22 weeks, but I feel like it, since nothing is fitting me. (I wear a size 8 right now.)

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y205/Matakishi/pregnantbnw.png

So should I buy small or medium maternity clothing. I want this shirt, but they only have small left and I’m not sure if it would fit.

Thanks for answering!
I look large? Wow, I wasn’t even thinking that at all.
I have pretty small boobies. Granted, they’re bigger now then they were, but not by too much.

Hi. I live in San Diego (CA) I’m wondering if any of you have experience shopping for maternity clothing in the area. What are the stores in the area available to those of us who are expecting? Thanks

Should I be offended or am I being ungrateful?

I’m asking this in the newborn and baby section because I’m hoping to get some responses from some of my contacts. My father and my step mother live out of state, long story short my step mother is pretty much the wicked witch of the west. She tortured my brother and I while we were growing up, controlled every move my dad made, etc before they moved out of state. Well I had my first son 14 weeks ago. While I was pregnant my stepmom went out of her way to send me boxes of used Maternity clothing in the wayyy wrong sizes, she knows I’m about a size 9, and she’d send me size 2-4 maternity clothes. Mind you I never asked her for anything, and she never asked me if it would be okay for her to send me used clothing. For my baby shower, my father and her didn’t make much of any effort to come out, instead they sent me a package full of used baby clothing. For his birth, they said they would try to come out so my father could see his first grandchild, never happened, instead I received another box of used baby clothing. Now for Xmas I just got a package today and opened it up and whatta ya know…. more used baby clothing. Now I wouldn’t be bothered if I asked for hand me down baby clothing from friends, etc, but I think this is really tacky! On top of that, they aren’t well worn baby clothing, they are really old, wrong sizes, and some of them even have holes in them. I know this isn’t an issue of them not being able to afford more, after all they are sending both of HER daughters from her previous marraige to private universities. What really bothers me, is that she doesn’t have a son so somehow she’s going out of her way to find used boy baby clothing from somewhere. I feel really offended. She knows my fiance and I can afford new clothing (not to sound snobby) but it’s the truth. My father has zero control of gifts, Gina (my stepmom) usually does all the shopping so I doubt my dad even knows this is going on. Anyways I feel like this is just another way for her to be a mean, spiteful, b*tch to me! I’m really offended and I’m wondering if I should return the clothing and kindly say "no thankyou" to them. She is pure evil really! This has been a long time coming and I don’t appreciate what she’s doing. Am I being unreasonable???
Oh & believe me in no way am I protecting my father. I know this is just as much his fault as it is hers… and I’ve spoken to him numerous times about this issue along with many other issues. He just cannot stand up to her, she’s a control freak and he’s a complete wuss.
Jill: Fantastic, you have me rolling! I’ll just have to do that!

I am opening a children’s consignment boutique, I feel that maternity clothing is WAY too expensive and I would rather get it second-hand. I still want name-brand clothing that look nice and are fashionable.

I also know that my maternity clothing has gotten soooo ratty with little pils/pulls, stains, etc! Is this a reason I don’t see a lot of maternity clothing at consignment shops.

What would make you consign your maternity clothing? What would make you buy maternity clothing from a secondhand/consignment shop?
Trina, I totally agree with you about the styles! It’s like the designers are like okay your pregnant now you have to wear "mom" clothes. If I do buy brand name I like Old Navy and Target stuff. Gap is okay, but still so expensive, and I find that Motherhood is overpriced and the quality of some of the stuff is not that great, although I did find a cute pair of blue jeans there for , that’s probably the most I’ve paid for any one piece so far, but a good pair of jeans is a necessity! I haven’t tried Walmart, because I have never been able to find a "Maternity section". I do like Sears, though, they have great clearance sales, I bought 2 shelf bra tanks for .50 each, and 2 short-sleeve collar shirts with the stretchy sides for each. They were just priced that low because it was the end of the season. I may just keep looking for deals and sell them for -2 more at my store, if I can’t get people to consign their stuff.
